Education Programs
Awareness about abuse and a focus on healthy respectful relationships is a cornerstone to all SAiF education and prevention programs. These programs are offered FREE of CHARGE to residents of St Albert, Sturgeon County, Parkland County and surrounding rural areas.
- Elementary are 37 minutes long
- Junior High are 50 minutes
- High School are 75 minutes
- Sports teams are based on school/age level

As a primary prevention program, our education in schools aims to provide youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop healthy interpersonal relationships. Topics include:

WiseGuyz, developed by the Centre for Sexuality, has demonstrated outcomes in supporting male identifying youth to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to have healthy relationships and to prevent adolescent dating violence. Thanks to a grant in partnership with the City of St Albert, we are able to offer this program in our service areas.
Make It Our Business provides information and education to help employers and their employees understand how to better meet Alberta’s OHS Act — particularly how to understand and identify the signs of abuse; what resources are available; and how they can best respond to the needs of those among them who may be suffering from domestic abuse.
The workshop is approximately 1 hour, and can be completed onsite with a minimum of 5 participants.

Offered to community residents with a focus on key topics that are raised as current issues or concerns regarding abuse or the potential for abuse. They are announced as they are developed.
